Lately I’ve been fascinated by the work of Willem de Kooning and since I’ve learned more abstract painting techniques (like gestural painting for example), all I could think about was creating a tribute to this incredible artist.
Here are a few Willem de Kooning paintings to understand better my source of inspiration.
What fascinates me about gestural painting is that the final artwork feels like a snapshot or a short glimpse of a much larger and much more ample creative expression, almost like taking a photo of the stage in the middle of a concert.
